Rob McBride has applied his video journalism skills to the field of documentary making in Asia, taking on assignments ideally suited to the single handed ‘small camera’ school of film-making.
His productions have included a half-hour progamme on the disappearing culture of the Asmat people of West Papua, with a two week expedition that saw him gain access to some of the most remote and inhospitable reaches of undiscovered Asia.
The same low key approach provided the sensitivity needed to produce a half-hour documentary, revealing the strange and sometimes bizarre world of the Filipino band business.
